CCR Question #4 Draft

I used a Canon eos camera for my photo shoot on the sports setting and A+ settings. I mostly used publisher and InDesign for my magazine and photoshop for some of the photos in my magazine to sharpen them up.

CCR Question #3 Draft

I feel I am way more proficient with my skills I have learned during this magazine process. I had never used a real camera before other than my iPhone one and this project taught me how to take photos and what the different compositions of them mean. My photoshop skills were also improved I learned how to cut out an image on photoshop and layer the background for my cover. I had to schedule different photoshoots also to make it so everyone could make the photoshoot for my magazine.

CCR Question #2 Draft

My distribution plan is to set up stands to make a website that features photos of my magazine. This will attract people and they will want to order the magazine due to it's eye catching action pictures and popping colors. The distribution research i did helped prosuce this plan because it taught me differnt ways magazines can be distributed. traditionally magazines can be distributed at places like a grocery store. Other places may distribute magazines at college bookstores to attract a younger crowd like what i am tring to do with my magazine.

CCR Question #1 Draft

One convention I used in this project was the use of bright  and bold background on the front of my cover page. This attracts more consumers when looking for magazines in places like grocery stores. Another convention that I strategically used was the front cover shows a cutout of a soccer player that covers the whole page and catches consumers attention. This affects the social group of people that like to read sports magazines like sports illustrated because it uses bright colors like on magazines they have seen and read before. Another convention i used was a bold and unique font titale that i outlined in orange. This helps so that the magazine catches teens eyes in stores with the bright colors. The social groups represented in this magazine is a soccer team with 2 coaches. The location i chose helps show it is soccer team because they are at a soccer field with a goal in the background.

3rd Quarter Submission

Some revisions I made to my magazine include changing the fonts of my title and text, adding page numbers, adjusting columns, fixing columns, and adding some new picture to the 2 page article.

Distribution Plan

My distribution plan is to set up stands to make a website that features photos of my magazine. This will attract people and they will want to order the magazine due to it's eye catching action pictures and popping colors.

Digital Distribution Research

Some magazine companies also offer e-books. This allows people to download the magazine digitally so when they have no internet they can still read the magazine. This is a great method of digitally distributing a magazine because it is available to everyone that has a phone.

Digital Distribution Research

A second way that magazines digitally distribute is through websites. Many magazine companies have websites to distribute their product. They have previews of photos featured in the magazines to attract people to want to buy their magazine. This is a great way to distribute magazines.

Digital Distribution Research

A way that magazine brands distribute their product is through apps. Apps like sports illustrated can let you read articles without having to buy a hand help copy of the magazine. This let's people with phones be able to read the magazine at anytime anywhere.

Revisions pt. 3

Image
I revised my two- page article magazine by changing the font to Footlight MT light to help it look unique. I also used different editing apps like InDesign and Publisher to edit my column . A new picture was added in the top right corner of the first page to show unity between the team. Lastly page numbers were added too.

Traditional Distribution Research

Traditionally, magazines are distributed in many ways. One of the most common ways to distribute magazines is through grocery stores for example, Publix. There is a small stand near the checkout that I plan to place my magazine. This will allow everyone that shops there to see my magazine because in order to buy things at the store you need to go through the check-out lane. This will bring new customers everyday. Additionally, magazine companies tend to buy ads in media columns like instagram to spread their company quicker. May people that are younger also tend to have social media so it will draw in a crowd of the younger age group

Revisions pt. 2

Image
For my table of contents I changed my font and background color of my table of contents. This helped the text of the pages pop and helped make the title look less generic and more unique.

Revisions pt1

Image
The first revision I did to my magazine was change the font to Hobo std. I did this so the magazine looked less generic and more unique. This will help attract more consumers because the title will attract them because they will find it eye catching and unique.

Marketing Plan

Image
I plan to market my product through social media like Instagram. This is because most teens use Instagram and that is my target audience. There will be Ads bought on other social media websites like snap chat so that it leads people to our Instagram.

Audience engagement research- sports illustrated

Image
Today, sports illustrated   key  ages range from 18 to 40 with average income ranging from average to above average income levels and have at minimum finished High School. These readers usually belong to the active lifestyle and are  sports fans. The average age of the consumer is 37 and 77 percent of the consumers are males. This helps show that my magazine may attract more men then more women because they are more interested in sports. The social media website they use for marketing helps reach out to people and give them new sneak peeks of magazines and articles.

Audience Engagement research- ESPN

Image
ESPN is a world know sports news distributer that makes the most profit than any other sports station. They also cover more than 4,800 hours of live and original streaming. ESPN offers sports fans live major events and original studio programming with the authority that they trust and the personalities that they enjoy. 76% of their viewers are males and 24% are females. The median age for the program is 48 years old. ESPN also uses things like social media websites and news ads to spread word to people of all ages.

Audience engagement research- USA today sports weekly

Image
USA Today uses many methods to engage their audience's. They use things like social media accounts and billboards to grab the viewers attention.Their distribution is spread to 48.8 million people every single day. That’s a lot of profit for the company. 71.5 percent of their consumers are men and 28.5 percent of them are women. The average age the magazine is targeting for is 44 years old. This may not be the case in my magazine because I’m looking to target a high school audience.

Indesign

Today in class we utilized adobe indesign to lay out our 2 page spread. We did this by using the tools of text wrapping and changing the style of our font for our magazine to make it look more unique. I also learned ow to put columns in my article to make it look more organized. I was overwhelmed by the amount of cool tools that were used in this app but I'm very familiar with adobe Photoshop which is kind of like indesign. This application is going to help me advance my magazine in so many ways I can't wait to see what other cool tools you can use in this application.

My Target Audience

My target audience appeals to people who are interested in or play sports. This would most likely attract people who go to Sarasota High and are a teen. This product will be appealing to the target audience because it will keep them up to date on the newest sports.
